THOMAS CLAIMS SECOND SPOT IN GNCC ROUND TWO.

18th Mar 2012

Epic three-hour battle in the Georgia heat!!

F.A.R.Husqvarna/Rockwell Time's Jason Thomas scored an excellent second-place finish in the XC2 PRO-LITES Class this weekend at round two of this year's GNCC Championship,The Maxxis 'General',held in Washington,Georgia.Racing the F.A.R.Husqvarna TXC250F,Thomas took part in a thrilling three-way race-long battle with fellow F.A.R.Husqvarna rider,Glenn Kearney,& K.T.M-mounted Steward Baylor Jr,which saw these three racers pull several minutes ahead of the rest of the XC2 field. For three long hours in the almost over-powering Georgia heat & humidity,Thomas & Baylor diced for the lead, with Kearney only ever seconds behind. As the white flag went out signalling the start of the last lap, there was still less than one second separating the two front-runners,& they both had everything still to fight for!! At the death, the overall victory went to Baylor, but Thomas had put up a terrific scrap,& ended up with a very well deserved second spot.Glenn Kearney came in several seconds behind the lead pair to claim third position,& put his machine next to Jason's on the Husqvarna-dominated Podium!! This weekend's result lifts Jason into second place overall in this season's XC2 PRO-LITES Championship, with round three taking place in two weekend's time at Steele Creek,Morganton,North Carolina.
