THOMAS TAKES A 2ND IN INDIANA OMA.
Monster Energy Andrews Yamaha`s Jason Thomas blasted his
way to a fine 2nd place aboard his YZ250F,at round 8 of the OMA
National Series this weekend.The `Johnny Signs XC` event,held on a new
track at Bedford,Indiana,was hot,dry & very dusty,conditions in
which the British rider often gives a great performance. The race, which
was won by Kawasaki rider & GNCC series leader Paul
Whibley,attracted plenty of East Coast Off-Road talent,including
Kawasaki`s Scotty Watkins,who finished 3rd,& Yamaha`s Barry Hawk,who
took 4th.Speaking after the event,Jason had this to say:
`Its been great to come here today & get in some good racing with these Guys, the OMA tracks are always tough & very technical,& its never a forgone conclusion how the day will go.I`ve been back in the States for a month now,& have been doing some mid-week Motocross as well as local 3 hour races on a Sunday,to keep in good shape & earn a few Dollars along the way.It was great to go home to the U.K. for a few weeks,to see my family,& Geraint (Jones),from Yamaha Off-Road Experience, very kindly loaned me a WR250F so I was able to do a couple of races back there too.I had some tough decisions to make whilst I was back home, about other events outside of the United States which I could possibly compete in,but the fact is that this is where my career is,& so this is where I need to be.Coming along to a great event like this one, racing against these very talented riders,& putting a few more Bucks in my Bank account, confirms,in my mind, that I`ve made the right decisions, for me.`
Next up for Jason will be round 10 of the GNCC series, being held over the weekend of 12-13 September,at New Berlin,New York State.
