Jason storms to round1 win of GNCC,leading every lap! Florida victory for Jason Thomas.
Monster Energy Andrews Yamaha`s Jason `UK7` Thomas took
first blood in the XC2 PRO LITES Class at Tuesday`s Parts Unlimited
River Ranch GNCC,held at Lake Wales,Florida.
The opening round of this season`s series attracted a massive entry of close on 1200 riders, from Eight Countries.
Capitalising on a month`s intensive training & bike preparation in the heat & sand of Florida,& also taking full advantage of a change in the GNCC rules this year, which, in line with other AMA sanctioned events, allows 250cc two-strokes to compete against 250cc four-strokes in the same race, Jason, riding a Yamaha YZ250,expertly prepared by former Pro-Circuit & Suzuki factory mechanic Joey Maurer, Pulled out a convincing lead in the opening laps & never looked back. The rough & testing sand track at Westgate soon got extremely whooped out, much to the liking of the British rider, who is now based in Salem, Ohio.
Having finished in 7th place overall in last year`s GNCC Series, Jason lived up to his new number by finishing in 7th place overall in this particular race. In the XC2 PRO-LITES class, Jason was followed home by KTM riders Jesse Robinson, in 2nd,& Kailub Russell in 3rd.There`s more GNCC action for Jason this weekend, as the Series moves on to the round two event, the Maxxis General, being held at the fast & furious Washington race venue in Georgia.
