GNCC THIRD PLACE FINISH FOR JASON THOMAS IN OHIO.

7th Sep 2010

Monster Energy Andrews Yamaha`s Jason Thomas has scored another podium result with a 3rd place finish in the XC2 PRO-LITES Class at this weekend`s Wiseco John Penton GNCC.

Following torrential rain at the Millfield, Ohio circuit, GNCC organisers cut the event from the normal 3 hour format, to a 2 hour battle in the mud. Thomas, who was once again leading the entire field aboard the Fred Andrews YZ250 at the end of lap two, encountered problems with some back-markers who had become stuck on a steep hill during lap three of the four lap race. Attempting to go around the blockage, Thomas and his YZ250 ended up at the bottom of a ravine, from which it took him several minutes to escape:

`I have to say ,this has been one of the toughest events i`ve ever done.` said Jason afterwards, `It was like a cross between the `Tough One` ,& a Hill-Climb i once did with Geraint Jones & some of his friends back in Wales. I thought i had it done, i knew i was going well, but it kind of bit me in the ass a little!! I was just really pleased to end up with 3rd,& i also got a 7th overall, which im delighted with.`

With one more round of this season`s GNCC series to go before the Summer Break, the MotorcycleUSA.com event, which is being held at the awesome Snowshoe ski resort, high in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, over the weekend of June 26th-27th,looks set to be a fantastic finale to the first half of the GNCC year. There`s no sign of a break in Jason`s busy racing schedule prior to Snowshoe though,as next weekend he heads back to Canada to compete in round three of the 2010 FMSQ Series.
