Can-Am Grand National Cross-Country Series - Round Nine - Wisco 'John Penton' - Millfield Ohio.

In the sweltering heat of South-Western Ohio,KR4 Performance/Rockwell Time's Jason Thomas raced his heart out to achieve his 40th GNCC XC2 PRO-LITES Podium, with a memorable 2nd-place finish & 5th spot overall at Round 9 of the 2012 Championship, the Wisco 'John Penton' event, held this weekend at Millfield,Ohio.Racing his KTM 250XC Two-Stroke machine,Thomas got off to a great start,& was soon embroiled in another race-long battle with F.A.R. Husqvarna's Andrew DeLong. As the two duelled it out, swapping the lead almost every lap of the 3-hour race, they once again found themselves rising ever-higher up the overall leader-board,finally claiming 4th & 5th positions respectively.Despite the 100 degree-plus temperatures,& cloud's of dust coming up from other rider's,there was still plenty of mud & slippery hill-climbs for competitor's to contend with, making this one of the most gruelling rounds of the GNCC Championship so far this year.As the Series reaches it's Summer break,Jason has thing's all set for an exciting final four rounds of racing in the fall.He is currently holding 2nd spot in the XC2 PRO LITES Class,5 point's off the leader,Steward Baylor Jr,& his excellent results over the past few races have also lifted him to 5th place overall in the 2012 GNCC Championship. The Series resumes with the Can-Am Unadilla event, which will be held over the weekend of Sepember 15th/16th in New Berlin,New York.
