KR4'S JASON THOMAS TAKES XC2 WIN & 3RD PLACE OVERALL IN SNOWSHOE GNCC!!

25th Jun 2012

GNCC Round 8 - Motosport.Com Snowshoe - Snowshoe,West Virginia.

KR4 Performance/Rockwell Time's Jason Thomas finally got himself & his KTM 250XC back onto the top step of the GNCC XC2 PRO-LITES Podium yesterday, with a career-best 3rd-place overall finish at Round 8 of the 2012 Championship, the Motosport.com 'Snowshoe' Cross-Country extravaganza.Held high in the Appalachian mountain's of West Virginia at the World-famous ski resort of Snowshoe, this remarkable event attracted over a thousand Racer's across the weekend, with the usual GNCC blend of quad racing on Saturday,& solo's on Sunday. With the whole of the extensive resort complex turned over to Off-Road motor-sport,thousand's of fan's in attendance,& entertainment aplenty, the whole weekend became a unique festival of Cross-Country racing,as unique & memorable in it's field as Namur in the World of G.P. Motocross. In glorious sunshine & high temperatures,Jason put on a memorable display of style & skill.Starting from the 2nd row of the Le Mans-style grid,Thomas pushed his way to the front of the XC2 pack early on in the 3-hour race.Looking like he was in his element on the undulating & winding trail, which was actually remarkably similar to the Dyfi forest in Powys,Mid-Wales where he grew up,Thomas had 3rd place overall within his grasp from roughly the mid-point of the race.Despite a late charge from Yamaha's Paul Whibley,Thomas knew he had what the condition's demanded,& fought all the way to the chequered flag, securing valuable point's in both the XC2 Class, where he currently occupies 2nd position,& the GNCC Championship overall, where his result yesterday has lifted him to 6th place.Jason & the KR4 Performance Cross-Country race-team will be back in GNCC action in 2 weeks time,at the Wisco 'John Penton' event, which will be held over the weekend of July 7th/8th,at Millfield,Ohio.
